This movie I chose as I had already watched October Sky and Rudy several times, in order to see something equally moving and tear jerking. No kidding, Cools Runnings is definitely cathartic and “heart-warming” and likewise conducive to evoke opinions; against racism. Since both, the Law of Substitution and the Law of Dual Thought alarmed me to opt to resist anger by substituting to think about God instead; the God of forgiveness who chose to be born in a barn. The God who declared the root of why people discriminate, ignorance; “they don’t know what they are doing.” People who walk in darkness. As I engaged in this train of thoughts, anger could no longer persist. img_0316

This movie also allows a further window into the world of Mark J, “Peace be the Journey,” the theme of the movie and symbolic name of their sleigh.  “The priest answered them, “Go in peace. Your journey has the LORD’s approval.” (Judges 18:6) The Law of Practice, which sustains my DMP, is supported here. Its a journey and peace, Shalom, Nothing Missing Nothing Broken (original meaning) be the guide and sustenance. Peace can be misunderstood as “relaxation” but the Law of Relaxation clearly buttresses that the power is in the mindset, not in the physical endeavor; the latter not precluding physical exercise, as the crew clearly exhibited, via strenuous practice. However, the Law of Relaxation is addressing the “oxymoronic” concept of “mental effort.” I can attest to that; trying to force my mind to produce images and emotions is counterproductive. Junior, when confronted by his father’s demand of returning to Jamaica immediately, needed a combination of  techniques in order to overcome what was holding him back. Malik, the most obstinate of the team —of all—- found it in himself mentoring Junior to overcome his inherent fear and place a concentrated demand on his sub-conscience; to focus on his image in the mirror and allow to grow confidence by shouting at himself; such that it does not matter what he saw; that it mattered what happened when he kept on shouting; he saw himself growing. He saw himself strong. The guy in the glass became his friend. His Definite Major Purpose crystallized in his solarplexus. Malik himself grew as he inadvertently submitted himself to Emerson’s law by investing into his team mate.

Our MKMMA journey is well encapsulated in this portrayal of the 5 underdogs; foremost the coach who lost his Olympic gold for cheating; the four young Jamaican men who stumbled around themselves and their inexperience; laughing stock among the white, dominating athletes from countries with lots of mountains and snow. Even Israel has more snow than Jamaica, lol. However, a substance within stronger than all opposing forces propelled them to be admitted to the Olympic competitions and to become the real champions, in spite of not winning. Yet, winning they did; their harvest includes Usain Bolt and others who made it all the way to God. Likewise, more in silence, there still continues to be a Jamaican Bobsleigh team, with a very promising teenager currently training in Lillehammer. The movie testifies to the power of a Mastermind, or as the Old Books connotes, “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.” (AMP) img_2549-1
